This year for Erick Curry’s birthday, he received the kindest of surprises from his co-workers.
Curry, who has been deaf since he was a baby, has been working for the past four-and-a-half years at the Yard House restaurant in his native St. Louis Park.
As he celebrated his 39th birthday on Saturday, he received via Facebook a video from his co-workers at the Yard House.
They had learned American Sign Language to sing him happy birthday.
“I cried and was speechless when I saw the video,” he told BMTN. “I can’t think of enough good words to say about them. I’ve got mad love for my co-workers they’re like my family!”
Curry became deaf at just 3 months old when he contracted spinal meningitis.
He attended the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in Faribault, before transferring to the Kansas School for the Deaf, and eventually attended St. Louis Park High School.
