Phones That Currently Work
At present, the only true Made For Android hearing aids available are the LiNX Quattro and possibly the Starkey Livio AI. They will only directly connect to Pixel 3 and 3a mobile phones that have been updated to Android 10 and Samsung Galaxy 10 S10 and S10+ phones that have been updated to Android 10.
Audio Packet Format And Timing
Packing audio frames into packets lets the hearing instrument derive timing from the link layer timing anchors. To simplify the implementation:
- An audio frame should always match the connection interval in time. For example, if the connection interval is 20ms and sample rate is 16 kHz, then the audio frame shall contain 320 samples.
- Sample rates in the system are restricted to multiples of 8kHz to always have an integer number of samples in a frame regardless of the frame time or the connection interval.
- A sequence byte shall prepend audio frames. The sequence byte shall be counting with wrap-around and allow the peripheral to detect buffer mismatch or underflow.
- An audio frame shall always fit into a single LE packet. The audio frame shall be sent as a separate L2CAP packet. The size of the LE LL PDU shall be:audio payload size + 1 + 6
- A connection event should always be large enough to contain 2 audio packets and 2 empty packets for an ACK to reserve bandwidth for retransmissions. Note that the audio packet may be fragmented by the central’s Bluetooth controller. The peripheral must be able to receive more than 2 fragmented audio packets per connection event.
To give the central some flexibility, the G.722 packet length is not specified. The G.722 packet length can change based on the connection interval that the central sets.

If the device is paired, it should appear in the Paired Devices list.
If your hearing aids are not pairing, try deleting the pairing. If this doesnt work, you may need to try pairing them again. If the app says your device is not whitelisted, simply try again.
