You Could Have An Inner Ear Disorder
On its own, hearing a low-pitched roaring or whooshing sound in one ear can be distressing. Add to that random episodes of dizziness and vertigo and a feeling of fullness in your ear , and you have every right to be concerned about whats going on. In this case, you could have Ménières disease, a disorder characterized by hearing loss, tinnitus, and dizzy spells, says Palmer.
Ménières disease is believed to be caused by a fluid imbalance in your inner ear. While it is a chronic condition, dietary changes , medications, hearing aids, and other therapies can help you manage your symptoms.

Ears Still Ringing Four Days After Shooting Ar
TL DR Four days after shooting, my right ear is still faintly ringing. Should I see a doctor?
ETA: Thanks for the replies guys. I understand it did long-term damage but the ringing will hopefully subside in a few days. If not Ill just man up and deal with it.
ETA 2: Its been ten days, ringing seems a tiny bit better. I went to a doctor today, he said I have acoustic trauma and the ringing will subside within 30 days. In the mean time he prescribed me a nine day course of prednisone to recover faster and lessen earaches. Also, he performed a hearing test on me and apparently my hearing is well above average for my age. So ya it should go away, now I learned to not half-ass ear protection during shooting.
OP: Four days ago, I consecutively shot about 90 rounds of .223 from my AR-15. It has a muzzle break so it sounds extremely loud to the shooter. My ear protection was not fully sealed while shooting.
Since then my right ear is still faintly ringing. It doesnt give me headaches but it hinders being able to fully hear out of my right ear and annoys me when Im trying to sleep.
This happened once before but went away after two days.
Do I need to see a doctor at this point? Should I give it more time to heal?

ByMatthew Lord | Submitted On June 08, 2009
The causes of ringing in the ears are numerous, but generally the problem is found in one of three areas, and you can easily cure your ear ringing if you take the appropriate steps to stop the problem known as tinnitus. In order to stop the problem you must know what causes it and how your current habits may have aided in the development of tinnitus. Here I want to show you the reasons for tinnitus and how you can cure them in just a few days.
1. First and foremost one of the main reasons for ringing in the ears is exposure to excessive loud noises which can damage your hearing. For instance going to a concert and sitting in the front row near the speakers, or shooting a gun without protective ear equipment. Even your work setting can be a problem if you do not properly manage the loud noises that occur in factory settings.
2. In addition to this tinnitus has often been linked with some prescription medications and a lack of vitamin B. Most of the time tinnitus can be cured which is great news for those of you who suffer from the problem. You may want to ask your doctor if your medicine has been known to be one of the causes of ringing in the ears, however he likely will tell you that no cure exists.

If it happens to you, Jagasia recommends calling your doctor as soon as possible.
“As we get older, it’s common to start experiencing ringing in our ears at some point,” he says. “Most often, it’s not serious, but tinnitus can affect your day-to-day living. The good news is that we can teach our bodies to ignore it.”

Shingles is painful and uncomfortable. If you leave it untreated, it may be unbearable or you may feel inclined to scratch the affected sites. This is not recommended as it can lead to scarring or further damage as you rip the skin and open your vulnerable body up to other pathogens. Just because you have suffered from one condition doesnt mean you are not able to suffer from others. comorbidity is big and can even lead to your current conditions becoming worse of transforming into something more severe. How Can You Get Your Tinnitus To Subside
Whether your tinnitus is short term or long lived, you will want to find relief as soon as you can. Even though theres no cure for tinnitus, there are a few things you can do to lessen symptoms :
- Find a way to cover up the sound: You can in some cases mask the sound and get a good nights sleep by utilizing some source of white noise including a humidifier or fan.
- Try to keep calm: Maybe it sounds a little abstract, but increased blood pressure can bring about tinnitus flare ups so keeping calm can help keep your tinnitus at bay.
