For Oticon hearing aids, the name of the hearing aid should be somewhere along the spine of the hearing aid .

Phonak hearing aids indicate their platform with a letter before the numbers in the name of the hearing aid. For example, a Phonak Sky 70 level Power Rechargeable hearing aid would be Phonak Sky M70 PR or a Phonak Sky Belong 70 level super power hearing aid would be Phonak Sky B70 SP. The name will be on the spine of the hearing aid .

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Make sure your accessories are fully charged each day to ensure a full day of streaming when eLearning.
  • Hearing aid batteries will drain more quickly while streaming due to the amount of power needed to maintain connectivity.
  • If you are using an accessory to connect to a computer and need to use a microphone for meetings, you will need to make sure the accessory is close to your face or around your neck and the microphone is unobstructed by clothing and hair. You also want to make sure the accessory is not touching any jewelry while using the microphone.

Audio Directly From The Television

When we use a wireless device like this were taking the audio directly from the television and putting it directly into the hearing aids. This means that the signal isnt being converted from electrical energy into acoustical energy in extra time.

It also means theres less noise involved. Overall what this means to the patient is just a much better listening experience. Most of these systems make use of a base unit that gets attached to the TV.

A lot of my patients are concerned that the set-up is something thats scary and so they avoid doing it. But this is something that only needs to be completed one time. The first item is connecting it a power source.

It should be some sort of power cable that gets connected into the base station and gets connected into the wall. This doesnt typically require line of sight, meaning that it can be out in the open or it can be tucked away in a cupboard so that theres no hassle with cords hanging around.

The second cord is very important. This is the cord thats going to be taking the audio signal from the television, stereo or wherever youre trying to capture the music or audio from. Again, one plug is going into the back of the unit.

Pair Oticon Opn hearing aids with TV Adapter

This video will show you how to pair Oticon Bluetooth hearing aids to TV Adapter 3.0, to stream sound wirelessly from your TV to your hearing aids.

My name is Andreas Seelisch and Im an audiologist working with Hearing Solutions. Id like to talk to you a little bit today about some of the wireless components that are available for hearing aids today.

Hearing aids are able to connect to a variety of different devices through wireless technology, including Bluetooth. This means we can take cell phone calls directly from our phone and answer them into our hearing aids.

It also means we can take audio samples from just about any audio signal. Most commonly this might be something like a television. The reason we want to do this isnt because the hearing aid wont work without a television but because it can just make it something better.

Audio when it leaves something like a speaker is bouncing off of a lot of other objects and its losing energy on its way and it may be changing. We also may be introducing noise another person talking, a fan, an engine anything thats going on in the background and all of this can reduce from the enjoyment or it can make the signal to noise ratio worse.

Unfortunately the unit was for European plugs. I called the USA dealer and was told I could get an adapter but could not guarrantee it would work in the US. SO I requested a return and was accepted. They were very pleasant about returning it but I had to pay the postage to return it. Postage was $30.00 which I had to eat. If they had sent me the correct plug there wouldnt have been an issue in the first place. The dealer in the US couldnt answer my questions so I went with the return. Am waiting for my payment deposit and notice. So far nothing.
