During your regular clean and care routine take a good look at the speaker end of your hearing aid. Check your wax guard carefully and see if it has a lot of wax in it. Most wax guards have a series of holes in the cup part of them that are visible to a good eye. If they are blocked, or if you can’t see them at all. It is time to change your wax guard. Don’t wait for the sound to go dead or weaken, sometimes, that just won’t happen until the wax has invaded the speaker part itself.

A hearing aid dome is a bell-shaped piece of plastic which is attached to the end of a hearing aids tube. Cleaning Wax From Hearing Aids
Do any of the readers have a recommendation for a device for removing wax from hearing aids. I saw one other post about this, but cant find it now. I have seen ads fo Jodi Consumer. Anyone have experience with this ?
It depends on the style of aid you wear and the nature of the wax. I wipe my power domes down daily . For my older ITE aids, I would occasionally run the looooong brush through the air vent to clean that out.
Its also recommended to change the wax guards every month or so . If youre close to your audi, you should be able to take them in for a 5-min cleaning.
I have ear molds. The hole in my molds is very small, but Costco didnt say anything about changing wax guards. This Jodi Consumer that I mentioned has a small needle with it. I am looking for alternatives to that device or experience using it.
You gotta do BOTH: run the Jodi-C through the vent and change the wax guards periodically. In fact, most aids will be sold with a years supply of cleaning tools and wax guards.
I dont mean to be a BUG, but it would irk me if Costco left that out of your kit. You could go back to them and ask how to use these tools.
I have earmolds so I use the end part of the Plackers to get the wax out of the vents.

Batteries: How To Change Them And How To Order Replacements
Your hearing aid battery is size 13. To change your battery, remove the orange sticker to reveal a smooth side on the battery with a cross indicating positive. The smooth side up with the cross is the correct way to insert the battery.
If you find you have to force the battery door closed, then the battery has been inserted the wrong way round.
Battery life
This will depend on the type of battery your hearing aids use, how frequently you use the hearing aid and the strength of your hearing aid. A size 13 battery usually lasts 10-14 days, although if you have the more powerful hearing aid it might last only 6-8 days. Your hearing aid will beep twice to alert you that the battery needs changing. The hearing aid will give you a final 4 beep warning that your batteries have expired.
