However, in a very smart move, they decided to make the device rechargeable. If you are considering the purchase of any direct connection hearing aid from any of the hearing aid brands, well then thinking about a rechargeable option makes sense.
Made For iPhone, Made For Android or Made For Any Phone systems are quite power hungry devices. Going for a rechargeable option makes financial sense here. The rechargeable system that Unitron uses in this device is the Z Power system that Unitron went with for the rest of their devices. There have been some problems with that system so do your research in relation to it and follow the instructions given carefully.
Bluetooth Hearing Aids That Work With Android Right Now
There are Bluetooth hearing aids that work directly with Android right now. They are billed as Made For All Phone devices which is a concept of the Sonova group, their initial devices would allow you to answer calls hands-free in one hearing aid from an Android phone but would not allow you to stream audio to your hearing aids.

What Took So Damned Long
The issue for the hearing aid brands has always been the Android operating system and the fragmentation of it and the hardware used in Android phones. Android is an OS that is used on many phones from many different phone brands, that has meant that the Android experience on Samsung devices is quite different than on HTC devices. It also means that the hardware used in those phones is also often different. This ensures that designing hearing aids that will work with every Android phone is an insurmountable task. However, with the introduction of Android P, that began to change.
Android wrested back a lot more control over the OS with Android P, especially the Bluetooth management system. It means that the part of the operating system that will help hearing aids connect will now be the same across phones with Android P. They will only directly connect to Pixel 3 and 3a mobile phones that have been updated to Android 10 and Samsung Galaxy 10 S10 and S10+ phones that have been updated to Android 10.

How To Know If Your Device Is Compatible
If you own a newer phone or tablet, then theres a high likelihood that your device will be compatible with your hearing aid. If your phone is older, check your packaging or phones manual and what the Hearing Aid Compatible rating is. That way, youll know if it will be compatible.
For compatibility, check for an M and a T rating. The M rating signifies how your phone will function with the hearing aids microphone. The T rating, on the other hand, measures how your phone will pair with the T-Coil.
When the number is higher, that means it will work better with your hearing aid device. An ideal number to look for is around 3 or 4. If you need to purchase a new phone, be sure to choose one that has an M or T rating of 6 or more.
According to the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, youll want to stay away from phones that have metal cases. The reason for this is that it could cause signal interference with your hearing devices.

Selecting What To Stream To Your Hearing Aids
- If you want to stream only phone calls to your hearing aids, Apple devices on iOS 13 or later allow you to turn off all notifications by going to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices > Audio Routing > Media Audio and set it to Never Hearing Devices. For Android devices, hearing aid wearers should disable apps that stream audio directly.
- If you want to stream audio from selected apps to your hearing aids, both Android and iPhone users should go to Settings > Notifications and ensure that Sounds are turned on or off as appropriate for each application. Android users may have the option to disable all app sounds with a single switch.
- To enable touchscreen and keyboard sounds, iPhone users should go to Settings > Sounds and turn on Keyboard Clicks and Lock Sound. Android users should follow a similar process at Settings > Sounds and Vibration.

Is Your Device Compatible
Currently, ASHA technology is available to users of the most recently released Resound hearing aids, the Resound LiNX Quattro hearing aids.
Google Pixel 3 line of smartphones and Samsung Galaxy 9s and 10s.
If you arent currently using these devices, you may need to upgrade to experience the full advantages offered by your advanced resound hearing aids.
To check if your device is compatible, download the Resound Smart 3D app in the Google Play store.
If your device is compatible, you will receive a screen showing that your hearing aids are already paired and ready to use .
Otherwise, you will either receive error warnings indicating that 1. you need to change your settings to use the device or 2. your device is not compatible .
If your device is not compatible with Android 10, speak with your carrier about how to upgrade your device.
How To Connect Wirelessly
Luckily, with technology like Bluetooth and WiFi, connecting to all your devices has never been simpler. With Bluetooth, you can connect with ease more so than with a telecoil.
The other benefit of Bluetooth technology is that youre able to sync multiple devices at once. This feature allows you to watch TV, answer your phone, and whatever else you want to do on your devices without having to switch to a different device manually.
You can also connect your hearing aids to all Smart technology in your home, like lights and thermostats. However, you must be sure that your hearing aids are compatible with Bluetooth.
